Very floriferous from a young age and melliferous. 70-80 light and dark purple flowers in dense bunches of 20-30cm long, in April-March. Can be formed into a good Bonsaï, otherwise pruned as a shrub or medium-sized climber. Growth is similar to that of the Wisteria 'venusta'. Deciduous leaves of 13-15 leaflets falling late in autumn. The winding branches coil around props in a clockwise fashion.
