Very frutiferous. Old variety tolerating rot and mildew. Keeps well. Ripe in September. Pulp is greeny white, delicate and sweet, of excellent quality. Found at Cahors during the reign of Henri IV who had some sent to Fontainebleau, from where the name derives. Synonyms : 'Chasselas de Thomery', 'Angevin', 'de Pondichery', 'de Florence', 'Fendant Roux', 'Doucet', 'Bournet'... In a dry soil, grapes will be smaller but tastier.
