Lovely erect shrub, then compact and domed, very rustic. 3-lobed coppery-purple leaves in spring, then dark green and finally purple in autumn. Flowers are in flat corymbs at the end of branches, red in the center with a white circumference. Produces a few red berries in summer. An early budding can be affected by late frosts.
