Vigorous and domed shrub with superb thick, evergreen, oval and glossy leaves. The older leaves will become orangey-red in autumn. Heavily perfumed and nectariferous white flowers appear bunched on conical panicles. It can produce bunches of red berries, finishing black in autumn. Shelter from very cold weather.
