Flowers appear in March-April, in little white bunches, that bow down about 3-5cm long. In August, edible, dark purple berries appear. Forms a rounded bush with flexible branches. The young branches are covered with silky hairs. The light green leaves, of about 3-5cm long, are 3 lobed and dentate. Will easily grow in any exposure, a cool soil, moderately dry, acid to lightly chalky. Tolerates cold weather, pollution and sea-spray.
