The dark green and shiny leaves are slightly bluish in summer, turn orangey red in autumn, become brown in winter and stay on the tree (marcescent) through winter until new leaves appear in spring. Very resistant to the cold (around -30°C) A cross breed of 'Q. robur fastigiata' and 'Q. alba'.
