Very floriferous plant covered with showy flowers in spring. It is the most impressive cherry tree of all. Red buds, the flowers are 5 to 6 cm diameter and gathered in groups of 2 to 5. They open with a dark pink colour and become lighter as they blossom. Orange-yellow foliage in autumn. Upright vegetation and flared shape. Robust and hardy plant. Synonyms: 'Sekiyama'; 'New red'.
