Small spherical and compact tree with lovely palmed, bright orangey red leaves in autumn, turning purple in winter. Leaves are marcescent (dry leaves staying on the tree a long time in winter). Little round black berries in autumn. Appreciates a deep soil. Tolerates periodical humidity, even annually flooded land for short periods.
