Maintenance advice : Remove any dead or spindly branches at the end of winter. Appreciates mulching, 5cm thick, to stay fresh and help roots to establish. A regular prune to rejuvenate is beneficial, consisting of cutting the older greying stems just above large buds, at the end of winter.

Large orbicular red flowers held on strong, upright stems, from July to August. Well ramified and stocky plant with a rounded form, excellent for all gardens. Relatively rustic. One of the best red varieties. Will be a good flower for dried compositions. Synonym : H. 'Schöne Bautzerin'.
