Beautiful silvery foliage with greyish-green downy undersides. Beautiful rounded, flexible, gracious with long arching brances. Pink white flowers in May-June followed by orange red fruits from September until February, appreciated by birds. Melliferous plant. Excellent plant in hedges, in borders associated with evergreen ground cover plants or ericacious. Tolerates chalky conditions. Appreciates sheltered locations. Species dedicated by Désiré Bois to Adrien René Franchet, botanist at the Paris Natural History Museum.
