Read detailed description :

Small tree, almost as wide as it is tall. The spaced branches have a beautiful wide-spread shape. The narrow and oval leaves of 8 to 15 cm long have a blazing tinge in autumn from bright red to purple. The spectacular flowering occurs in April-May before the leaves are coming out. The tiny and green true flowers are surrounded by four large pinkish white bracts. They are located at the end of each branch, and followed by small, oval, glossy red and persistent fruits until mid-December. The fruits measure 1 cm long and are really appreciated by birds. The tree is really good looking and goes well in a heather compost flower bed. Its foliage quickly provides a good compost. As a hardy plant, it needs a cool, rich, drained and non chalky soil. Their natural habitat is often located on the edges of forest. In warm locations, avoid to plant it in direct sunlight.
