Vigorous and branched shrub, resitant to dry conditions and mist. It copes with poor even chalky soils. Yellow flowering that looks like broom. Fruits in swollen reddish-brown pods, translucent when mature, hence its nickname 'bladder tree'. 7 to 13 highly veined oval leaflets foliage.
