Superb, blue-green to green, tall tiered conifer. Large dark grey trunk. Short and rigid, dark green needles. Cones are between 9 to 15cm long. Tolerates dry and chalky soils. Can grow to up to 25m. Melliferous plant. For large gardens and parks, and better isolated to highlight it. It was brought into England in around 1638.
