A vigorous and hardy tree (resistant to the Chestnut ink disease, Anthracnose and leaf rust). Can grow to 25m in height. Melliferous plant. Large-sized and firm nuts, 2-3 per bug (or husk). To be used, crushed in cooking, or grilled whole. Hybrid of C. crenata and C. sativa. Prefers a relatively rich and deep soil, and necessary when wanting large nuts. Spreading root system, plant under 500m in altitude. An excellent variety, adapts to different regions. South, South East, South West exposure and sheltered from strong winds.
