Vigorous shrub with stunning purple-red, double flowers. Abundant flowering in May-June, repeating in July and sometimes again in September. The olive-green leaves are large and shiny. Any well drained soil will do, if not too heavy or chalky. Prefers a sheltered and warm exposure with cool soils.
