Excellent and sturdy garden plant with an erect and regular form. Leaves are slightly waxy, coppery green, turning red-brown in autumn. Abundant flowers in large white bunches in April, starting as pink buds. The edible berries are purpely-red and appear between the end of July and October. Melliferous plant. Its flowering branches can be kept in a vase. Can grow, if not pruned, to 6m when mature. Any soil, tolerates lightly chalky soils and humidity. Nominated in 1980 by the Netherlands.
