The darkest of the 'Agapanthus inapertus pendulus' varieties. The flowers appearing in summer, are tube-like and droop. They are the colour of ink, a very dark indigo, practically black in bud. The stump of this deciduous plant must be protected in winter from frosts with a thick cover of straw.
