A superb little shrub, with a round and compact form and erect stems. Resembles a smaller version of the 'Royal Purple' Smoketree. The lovely round leaves are purple with bright pink edges that become red in autumn. The feathery flowers are purpely red in June-July. Tolerates chalky and dry soils.
