A mutitude of lightly perfumed flowers, of 2-2.5cm in diameter, appear in March-April, attracting eyes. They are carmine-pink with a lovely bunch of yellow stamens. Leaves are 3-6cm long, bronze tinted in spring, green in summer, orangey-red in autumn. Stays as a shrub for a few years then can become a superb little tree.
