Compact, spreading and low shrub with the young red shoots turning a shiny dark green. Abundant, bright carmine red flowers, from June to August, sometimes repeating in autumn. Tolerates sea spray. The plant was discovered, unnamed, in an American garden center, introduced and named by F. N. Kempen (NL).
