Compact, dense and erect vegetation. A good tolerant and robust plant, resistant to direct sun, contrary to other golden varieties. Deciduous, leaves are lemon-yellow in spring becoming red in autumn. The young shoots of stems are an orangey-red. Little yellow flowers appear in May, from red tinted buds. Bright red berries in September-October. Excellent in rock gardens, borders, isolated, containers or associated with other low colourful shrubs and perennials. Distributed by Minier in 2000. Seedling of Berberis thunbergii 'Aurea'.
