Vigorous tree, growing thick from the base. 15 cm long leaves with 3 well cut lobes, turning yellow and pink in autumn. Small light yellow flowering in March before the leaves. Robust and hardy plant, resistant to pollution. Tolerates chalky soils, in which autumn colours appear as early as August. Can grow over 10 m tall. Melliferous plant. Bred by Späth (D) in 1885.
