Looks a bit like a bohemian olive tree without thorns. Vigorous when young, the leaves staying a long time in autumn. The leaves are silver and dull above and shiny silver underneath. Narrow and oval shaped, 4-8cm long. The flowers, appearing in May, are yellow, small, discreet but heavily perfumed. Forms an erect shrub, with branches, darkening in age, decorative in winter. Vigorous, and easy to grow, extends through roots.
