The young leaves are an intense and attractive dark pink colour, bordered with dark bronze-green. Older leaves, bowing down, can turn a light orangey-yellow colour, offering an admirable contrast. Forms a lovely slightly bowing tuft. Plant in a sheltered spot in a well drained soil. Hybrid of P. cookianum and P. tenax. Synonym : 'Maori Maiden'
